Judy Annear is a writer and curator living in Sydney, Australia. She is adjunct at the University of NSW, Art & Design Faculty. Her field of research is modern and contemporary practice underpinned by a focus on periods of major technological change. Specialisations include Japanese photography and contemporary art, American and European modern and contemporary photography. Major projects include Alfred Stieglitz: the Lake George years 2010 and the 2015 exhibition and book The photograph and Australia. She was Senior curator photographs at the Art Gallery of New South Wales 1995-2016.
